The machine keeps its own record
A production machine already measures what it does: temperatures, pressures, cycle times, and a camera. The edge stack connects those readings to the serial number of the part being made.
What it is
An edge device beside the machine
The edge device sits on the workshop floor next to the production machine. It reads the machine's sensors and camera and sends them over your own network into QCore, where they are written against the serial number and the operation being worked on. It also connects to AssetCore, so condition data from a machine attaches to that unit's equipment record.
The readings arrive in the quality record, next to the inspection results and the signature.
What it gives you
Evidence recorded as the work happens
- Process evidence. Temperatures, pressures and cycle data captured while the operation runs, not written on a sheet afterwards.
- Camera images bound to the serial number. The photograph of the operation is attached to the unit it belongs to.
- Signatures gated by the readings. QCore can require the readings to be present and inside their band before a signature is offered.
- Several channels at once. One device handles multiple sensor channels and the camera together, over an ordinary network connection.
The other half
The machine records itself; a person records the rest
QCore's phone app covers what a person does: scan a serial number, open the unit's route card, and sign off each step as it is done, offline where there is no signal. The edge device covers what the machine did. Both write into the same record against the same serial number.
